He was oddly quite well through most of it, and his attitude and sense of humor eased OUR pain over the hand he had been dealt.

He is missed…

Have a rough day?”. But with you, I just don’t know. I’d be afraid to learn just how far your definition of “rough day” might surge past mine.

Still …heavy post man.

(Truth be told, I inserted that parenthetical and intended to go back and actually do it the right way but then la nina awoke and I got hasty)

Nice writing! Really!

Don’t think you are over using us. Your mother has stated many times that she wants to be available for the grandchildren “whenever”. Maybe her losing her job is for a reason.

Heck of a workout. Aside from sore wrists (I need to wrap under the gloves, I think) it felt good. And the bag never knew what hit it. Which is a testament to my lack of punching prowess.

Sincere thanks for introducing me to the other side of green a few years ago. I had no idea brusselsprouts could taste so good.

Regarding inserting an o-umlaut, there’s multiple techniques, none of which will work in all cases:
ALT-0214 = Ö
ALT-0246 = ö
(For these, press ALT key, and while holding, press the remaining numbers on the numeric keypad)

& O u m l ; = Ö (this might not work in WP comments)
(In WP editor, this is what the the “Custom Character” toolbar button will insert.)

Alternatively in Windows:
Start ->
All Programs ->
Accessories ->
System Tools ->
Character Map (find the character you want, copy it to clipboard, then paste)

But, none of these techniques works in all locations and for all operating systems. The most reliable when using WP, is to use the “Custom Character” toolbar button to select the character that you want.

Sounds like you had a decent Christmas. Just hope you don’t hurt yourself (or that H. doesn’t hurt you) with those gloves. Hope you have great new year.

It was the experiences….”

I cannot agree more. Case in point….I have been to Disney World at least a half-dozen times, if not more and yet one of my fondest memories doesn’t involve the castle, The Mouse or a single fabulous ride. Its of a 20 minute stretch of time my husband and I sat on a bench at a beach area while our two kids played tetherball. It wasn’t what they were doing or where they were doing it. It was just ‘being’ in that moment of time and space…the sun setting across the lagoon with a warm breeze blowing, holding hands with the love of my life while our kids laughed and played. 20 minutes of pure heaven on earth.
